Lokah Samastah Sukino Bhavantu
I came to yoga in 2016, broken both physically and mentally. I was a 19-year-old collegiate student-athlete who had just gone through my 2nd knee surgery and was struggling to overcome mental health obstacles. During my recovery, I attended a hot yoga class with the hopes of receiving a good stretch. Little did I know that I would walk away from this class completely changed (and literally in tears). There was something that cracked and opened inside of me — my soul was ready to heal. Yoga soon became therapy for me. It restored my body, soothed my mind, and challenged me to continuously grow as a person both on and off the mat.
The two most rewarding experiences I’ve gone through have been earning my B.A in Psychology from UC Santa Barbara and completing my 200 hour power yoga teacher training. Both affirmed my dream of giving back to my community and helping those who struggle with their physical or mental health. I love incorporating different themes that tie modern psychology and traditional yogic teachings together, all while offering unique and creative flows. My classes will challenge you, empower you, and hopefully leave you filled with more love for both yourself and our world.
Everyone deserves to be heard, to be seen, and to be able to access self-care through physical activity or other healing modalities. We are all one. Let’s nourish our body and minds together — see you on your mat :)
